The Resource Centre comprises of the Museum’s library collection and a study room (that is currently under development).  The library collection has about 15,000 volumes which include books, current periodicals, bound periodicals and rare books, with an emphasis on the history of Singapore, which is closely tied to the Museum’s core mission. There is also a growing collection on cultural studies and design related subjects like fashion, food, photography, film, architecture and interior design. Besides books, the Resource Centre also has a collection of audio-visual materials and CD-ROMs. Photocopying facilities are available at a fee.

The collection is available for consultation to all researchers and bona fide readers. Access is by appointment only. Readers are required to complete a registration form on their first visit, and to produce some form of identification that include signature and proof of address.
